NBA Basketball Arena Review
- New Orleans Arena
One of the great places in America to enjoy some old-fashioned
Southern hospitality is in the city of New Orleans. Not only are
they known for their gumbo and soul food, but they also have some
pretty good sports teams, as well. The New Orleans Hornets are one
of those teams that is fully embraced by the city, as is evident
every time you step into the New Orleans Arena. Not only do they
have one of the most exciting point guards in the league, Chris
Paul, they also have a great nucleus of players that should be
making noise in the very near future. Experiencing a Hornets game
being surrounded by 18,500 screaming fans is a feeling you can only
appreciate in New Orleans.
When you are making your plans to
travel to the New Orleans Arena, keep in mind that it is located
directly across the street from the Louisiana Superdome. This
provides four parking garages and two vacant lots for you to park
your car when taking in a Hornets game. The arena can easily be
reached by taking any of the Superdome exits off of I-10 and
following the signs to the New Orleans Arena. The building's
location on Girot St. also makes it easy to access from a public
transportation standpoint, as there is ample buses and rail lines
traveling throughout downtown New Orleans. If you decide to visit
the French Quarter before the game, you can simply walk a few blocks
to the west, and you will arrive at the arena.

The variety of
available concession stands at New Orleans Arena makes it very easy
to find the type of cuisine that you are looking for. From American
to Mexican food, there are many different ethnic meals that are
available on the four different levels of the building. With a
VooDoo Barbecue on hand as well, there are some great opportunities
to add true New Orleans flavor to your meal.
Some great food
and libations can also be found outside the arena in the nearby
areas. One place that you will definitely want to visit is Crescent
City Brewhouse. This brewpub not only contains a wide variety of
your favorite tasting beers, but they also indulge you by including
a full menu of traditional American fare that is sure to satisfy
your appetite. The menu is wide-ranging in its scope, but it does a
nice job of keeping the local New Orleans flavor as well. You might
also find Muriel's on Chartres St. to be a restaurant that allows
you to enjoy down South cooking at its finest. Located in the heart
of Jackson Square, Muriel's offers some terrific gumbo platters that
will give you a true feel for what New Orleans dining is all about.
After your big meal and one of the most intriguing basketball
experiences that you will have, you will want to experience the
nightlife that only a town like New Orleans can provide. Krazy
Korner on Bourbon St. is one nightclub that can't be missed.
Frequented by locals and tourists alike, this is a great place to
socialize and dance the night away. With live bands and a general
laid back feeling, Krazy Korner can fulfill any experience that you
desire for your post-game entertainment. If you are looking for more
of the sports bar atmosphere, check out Daisy Dukes within the
French Quarter of the city. With multiple big screens for your
sports viewing pleasure, you can catch up on all the nightly action
while still enjoying yourself with some of the friendliest locals
that you can find.
Of course, no trip to New Orleans would be
complete without a trip to Bourbon St. The home of Mardi Gras is one
of the great attractions that the city of New Orleans offers, and
the fun and excitement that can be found on a daily basis provides
you with hours of awe-inspiring entertainment. From shopping to
restaurants and everything in between, Bourbon St. is a really
special place to visit. You will also want to participate in one of
the famed ghost tours that New Orleans is so famous for. French
Quarter Phantoms provides you with real, genuine, and documented
stories for your listening pleasure. There are many different ghost
tours to choose from, and they all will shock and amaze you with the
tales that they tell.
The New Orleans Hornets continue to
build their roster to get their team to the top of the NBA's Western
Conference. New Orleans Arena provides you with all of the action
and excitement that you can handle while you join other Hornets fans
in cheering on the hometown team. Experience the history and allure
that is not only provided by the Hornets, but also by the city of
New Orleans itself. It will be a truly memorable occasion that you
will never want to forget.

Park Plaza or the Warwick Hotel. The Roosevelt is a really nice upscale
hotel with special pricing in the fall.
