NBA Basketball Arena Review
- Rose Quarter
Rose Garden inside the Rose Quarter facility is home to one of the
foremost up-and-coming teams in the National Basketball Association.
The Portland Trailblazers have completely redesigned their roster
over the past few years, and it has paid big dividends with the
Blazers now making the Playoffs on a regular basis. Rose Quarter
provides one of the most intimate basketball settings that you will
find anywhere in the NBA. Putting you right on top of the action,
the architects of this outstanding arena understood that every fan
deserves to be close to the on-court events while fully interacting
with the atmosphere that consumes the building during a Trailblazers
home game.
The $267 million stadium can hold just under
20,000 fans for a Trailblazers home game, and the concourses outside
of the main bowl provide ample walking room for moving about the
arena at any given time. If you like to keep up with other scores in
the league, there are many LED boards located throughout the arena
that make it easy to follow the terrific NBA action. Rose Quarter
also recently invested in see-through shot clocks, which makes it
easier for fans sitting behind the basket to be able to experience
all of the action.

Getting to Rose Quarter couldn't be any
easier, as there are multiple highway systems and public
transportation options that provide simple ways to arrive at the
arena. Two MAX Light Rail stations take you directly to Rose
Quarter, while Tri Met offers many different bus routes both to and
from the building so you don't have to worry about driving your own
vehicle. If you do decide, however, to transport yourself to the
game, know that there is a great deal of parking space throughout
the many garages that surround the arena. I-5 is the major highway
that gives direct access to Rose Quarter, so be sure to utilize this
expressway to help you arrive at your destination.
Looking
for a place to eat and drink before or after the Trailblazers game?
Pyramid Taproom at Schonley's Place provides the perfect setting for
anyone seeking out a brewpub that offers meals served in a stylish
setting. Seating up to 240 patrons, Pyramid Taproom can accommodate
your entire party while still providing a friendly atmosphere. There
is also The Game, which is a restaurant and bar that is located just
across from the southwest entrance of the building. The Game is open
up to three hours before the action tips off and offers you and your
family traditional American fare at reasonable prices.
There
are also options for eating outside of Rose Quarter as well. Some of
the best restaurants in Portland are located within the general
vicinity of the building. If you are seek a good old-fashioned
hamburger or sandwich, Under Wonder Lounge provides the perfect
place to satisfy your hunger before it is time for the game. Located
just a few blocks away from the stadium, Under Wonder Lounge offers
great food at terrific prices for the entire family. You also might
want to check out Wilf's Restaurant & Bar. Wilf's is a great place
to go if you desire more of an upscale setting for your dinner while
still being able to enjoy a wide variety of different meals that are
freshly prepared for you. Its laid back and cozy atmosphere is what
sets Wilf's apart from many other restaurants in downtown Portland.
Nightclubs are also aplenty in the vicinity of Rose Garden, and
there is an eclectic mix of different offerings at each club that
will satisfy anyone's taste in music and setting. Ohm Night Club is
a great place to visit if you are into live music. With great bands
playing most nights of the week, Ohm affords its patrons the
opportunity to partake in local Portland bands while still enjoying
the social aspects that make Portland such a great town. If you are
looking for a fun party, stop into Barracuda on NW 2nd Ave. More
than just a traditional bar and grill, Barracuda provides a great
atmosphere that lets you either dance your heart out or just sit
back and relax while enjoying your favorite drink.
Points of
interest in the Portland area are also aplenty if you are searching
for something to do before or after you attend a Portland
Trailblazers game. A visit to the Pearl District to get an eclectic
feel for the city is a great first stop in your journey through the
city of Portland. There are many different shoppes, galleries, and
restaurants in which you can choose from all with decorative themes
that make them easy to enjoy. The Oregon Museum of Science and
Industry is also an excellent place to visit as it hosts various
exhibitions throughout the year. There is a planetarium and OMNIMAX
theater on hand to give you an inside glimpse into America's vast
history. With two cafes located within the museum, you won't have to
go far to find everything you need for your entertainment.
The Portland Trailblazers youthful exuberance defines the city of
Portland as a whole. With a great upbeat atmosphere, you will find
your visit to Rose Quarter, and the surrounding areas, to a very
fulfilling experience. The Trailblazers are one of the rising teams
in the NBA, and their fan base continues to grow on a daily basis.
Visit Rose Garden at Rose Quarter to see just how successful this
franchise has become.
